In May, Fiona Reid (Chief Executive Officer), Shaun Hunter (Head of Innovation), and Lauren Strpko (Product Design Specialist) travelled to Suwon, South Korea, to represent TransitDash at the ITS Asia-Pacific Forum – one of the region's premier gatherings for transport technology and smart city innovation.
Sharing a booth with our partners ITS New Zealand and ITS Australia, Shaun and Lauren demonstrated TransitDash on the conference floor, walking agencies and tech leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region through how the platform helps transit teams communicate faster and more confidently during service disruptions.
Fiona also moderated sessions across the programme, covering topics ranging from incentivising public transport use to bicycle collisions and drone deliveries – a reminder of just how broad and fast-moving the global transport technology agenda has become.
The team also caught a glimpse of the future with a ride in autonomous vehicles, one of many innovations on show across the three days.
We were grateful to be interviewed by 7ITSNEWS on the conference floor, giving us the opportunity to share the TransitDash story with a wider Asia-Pacific audience. The interview touched on how TransitDash combines real-time data with agencies' brand assets to reduce manual processes from hours to minutes, and why participating at the Asia-Pacific Forum is an amazing place to showcase TransitDash to the Asia Pacific market.
What stood out most from conversations across the forum was that agencies everywhere are thinking beyond innovation for its own sake. Sustainability, safety, equity, and efficiency featured just as prominently as the latest technology.
It was a privilege to represent New Zealand on an international platform, and a reminder that great ideas don't have to come from the biggest countries to make a meaningful difference.
